OpenAI lists ChatGPT Plus at $20 per month. Google currently lists Google AI Pro at $19.99 per month on its U.S. Google One plan page. A one-cent difference should not drive the decision.

ChatGPT Plus: better for a focused AI assistant

ChatGPT Plus is usually the better fit when your daily work happens inside one AI workspace:

If you are undecided, test the same three real tasks in both free versions: one long document, one research question, and one task from your normal email or writing workflow. Pay for the service that removes more friction, not the one with the longer feature list.
