AI Model Comparison: Intelligence, Speed & Price

Compare AI model benchmarks, speed, and API prices, then shortlist models for your own task. Use the same data snapshot and check the actual model version before comparing.

HiseHub Model Value Lab

Compare AI models by intelligence, speed, and API price

Use independent benchmark data to understand which models are stronger, faster, or more economical for different kinds of work. This is a decision aid—not a promise that one model wins every task.

Side-by-side comparison

Compare up to three models

Select models from the table to compare the cached Artificial Analysis fields on the same snapshot. Search and sorting do not clear your choices.

Select two or three rows to start a comparison. Missing metrics are shown as “Not provided.”

How to read this comparison

  • Intelligence is the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index score; it is a composite benchmark, not a universal quality guarantee.
  • Value signal is a simple HiseHub comparison of intelligence against the estimated 3:1 input/output price. It is not a provider quote or a recommendation to buy API credits.
  • Speed and latency are median measurements. Real response time also depends on load, routing, prompt length, and the task.
  • Coverage includes the fields supplied by the official free language-model API. “Not provided” means the current feed does not supply that metric; it is not zero or proof that the source has never measured it.
  • Consumer subscription prices and regional App Store offers are separate from API prices. See our AI subscription price tool before choosing a plan.

Data source: Artificial Analysis. HiseHub does not reproduce its full benchmark suite and is not affiliated with Artificial Analysis or any model provider.

Turn the comparison into a buying decision

  1. Search for a model or creator and choose the metric that matches your task.
  2. Select two or three rows for a side-by-side view. Your selection stays in place when you search or sort; use Load more to explore additional rows.
  3. Check the product route before paying: Model Access Map covers plan availability, while the API Cost Calculator estimates your own token workload.
Task What to compare first What to verify before paying
Writing and editing Instruction following, answer quality, and speed Consumer-plan access and enough usage for your work
Coding Coding signal, tool use, context, and reliability Whether your coding product or API route is billed separately
Research Knowledge reliability, context, and citation behaviour Search, file, and research allowances
Images and video Media-specific preference tests and generation limits Credits, availability, and commercial-use terms

How to choose an AI model for your workload

Start with a constraint that can rule a model out: your access route, required tools, response time or budget. Only then compare capability. An inexpensive row is not useful if its endpoint lacks the feature your workflow needs; a stronger composite score does not establish that it handles your exact files or task better.

Use the metrics for different decisions

  • Interactive work: consider time to the first usable answer and total completion time, not only output tok/s. First-token timing can include reasoning tokens rather than the first answer token. A fast stream can still have a long wait before useful text.
  • Budget planning: the side-by-side “Blended 3:1” field is a fixed uncached mix: 75% input plus 25% output prices. It is not a subscription fee, your invoice, or the source’s current cache-weighted headline blend. Cache eligibility, reasoning output, tools and retries can change your bill. Enter your own mix in the API Cost Calculator.
  • Cost per task: the displayed source field describes its benchmark workload. It is useful context, but your task can consume a different number of tokens or need a retry. Do not convert it directly into a promised cost for your document or coding project.
  • Missing metrics: “Not provided” means this feed lacks that value. It does not mean zero ability, free usage or a model that has failed the test. Keep the Intelligence Index version and exact model variant aligned.

These distinctions follow the Artificial Analysis definitions; HiseHub’s fixed 3:1 planning mix is explicitly separate from its current blended-price methodology. Hosted endpoint speed is not a benchmark of your own GPU.

A practical five-task check before committing

Choose two or three candidates and five non-sensitive tasks that represent your actual work. Keep the input, tools and settings as comparable as possible. Decide the acceptance rules first: required facts present, runnable code or valid output format, no invented citations, and an answer you can use without a full rewrite. Record pass/fail, time and consumed tokens; preserve failed attempts rather than counting only the best answer.

A useful personal comparison is total spend across all attempts ÷ accepted results, alongside editing time and failure severity. This is a suggested evaluation method, not a claim that HiseHub has tested the listed models. Small differences in a composite leaderboard should not replace that evidence.

If you want to run an open-weight model locally, use the hardware-to-model finder to check memory separately. It answers a different question from this hosted benchmark table.

Data freshness and evaluation boundaries

The table uses a server-cached snapshot from the official Artificial Analysis public language-model API. Its refresh time describes the data collection, not a fresh HiseHub test of each model. The free feed does not reproduce every evaluation on the source website; model coverage and the Intelligence Index version can also change. The API key stays on the server.

The metric definitions and source attribution are directly below the tool. Read the Artificial Analysis methodology for the underlying evaluation design. For a newly announced model with no independent score yet, use the AI Model Release Tracker; do not treat an official announcement as a benchmark result.

Questions readers ask

Why can rankings disagree with my own results?

Benchmarks use a particular task mix. Your prompts, files, required tools, and quality threshold may differ. For close candidates, use the same representative task and judge whether each answer is actually usable—not just which answer is longest.

Is API price the same as a ChatGPT or Claude subscription?

No. This table’s token prices describe API usage, not a consumer plan’s monthly fee or quota. Compare the subscription route separately using AI Prices and the Usage Limits hub.

Why can the same model differ across hosted endpoints?

Quantization, routing, sampling defaults, context settings, and capacity can vary by endpoint. Match the model variant and provider before assuming that a score or speed measurement transfers to another service.

Considering a local runtime, chat interface, or workflow builder? Use the Self-Hosted AI Tools directory after choosing the model and access route.
